The chemical composition of stainless steel 304L coils contains 18-20% chromium, 8-12% nickel, and a maximum 0.03% carbon. Such low carbon makes them more weldable and reduces the precipitation of carbides. They have high tensile strength that is around 520 MPa, good formability, and excellent corrosion resistance, especially acids and chlorides.
