Mainly consisting of iron (Fe), stainless steel sheets and plates have chromium levels ranging from 18% to 20% with a result of high resistance to corrosion. Nickel content ranges between 8% and 20% while strengthening the performance of the material in strength and ductility. Manganese is present at 2%, which increases toughness while small percentages of silicon (Si), carbon (C), and molybdenum (Mo) increase hardness, strength, and resistance to corrosion. The material is characterized by its high tensile strength up to 1000 MPa, good formability, and superior resistance to heat and oxidation, and thus, the material is extremely suitable for application in structural and industrial fields.
