Stainless Steel 317L is a low-carbon, molybdenum-containing grade with excellent corrosion resistance. Composition includes approximately 18-20% chromium, 11-15% nickel, and 3-4% molybdenum. Its properties include superior pitting and crevice corrosion resistance, high strength, and good weldability. Advantages include enhanced resistance to chloride-induced corrosion, making it ideal for chemical and marine environments, and maintaining mechanical properties at elevated temperatures. It is also known for its excellent formability and smooth surface finish.
