Stainless Steel 440C is a high carbon martensitic stainless steel composed of approximately 0.95-1.20% carbon, 16-18% chromium and 0.75% molybdenum It provides high strength, hardness and corrosion resistance, with a hardness of up to 60 HRC. Its properties make it ideal for applications such as knife blades, surgical instruments and bearings. Benefits include excellent edge retention, corrosion and heat resistance, making it suitable for high-stress environments where durability is required.
