Low carbon versions of 304 stainless steel, stainless steel 304L pipes are designed to increase the weldability and corrosion resistance. They mostly consist of 18-20% chromium and 8-12% nickel, while maintaining maximum carbon content up to 0.03%. These materials have resistance to oxidation, staining, and pitting as well. This makes them ideal for chemical, food processing, and pharmaceutical use applications. Low carbon content reduces carbide precipitation during welding, and therefore strong, corrosion resistant welds are ensured.
