AWS Class ER308/308L MIG and TIG filler welding is designed for welding wire and rod stainless steel, primarily 304 and 304L grades. They contain about 19-21% chromium and 9-11% nickel, with low carbon content to reduce carbide precipitation and improve corrosion resistance ER308L has even lower carbon content than ER308, which increases intergranular corrosion resistance. These wire and rods provide excellent weldability and mechanical properties, making them ideal for applications in the chemical, petrochemical, food and beverage industries where corrosion resistance and durability are important.
