Stainless steel 317L tubing is a low-carbon version of 317, which offers improved weldability and corrosion resistance especially in acidic environments Its composition usually contains 18-20% chromium, 13-15% nickel and 3-4% molybdenum, with carbon a the content is 0 .03% and maximum. This compound increases the resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. Mechanical properties of 317L include 515-690 MPa tensile strength, 205 MPa yield strength and 40% elongation. It maintains excellent strength and stability at high and cryogenic temperatures, making it suitable for a variety of industrial applications.
